This one-week course combines theory and clinical concepts directly related to the field of pedorthics. It is designed to develop participants' understanding of how pathological conditions can cause sensory, motor and neurological disabilities at the foot and ankle complex.
The program consists of lecture presentations and demonstrations in the following areas

This two-week course develops and refines the technical skills necessary in fabrication of foot orthoses as well as shoe modifications specific to management of foot and ankle disorders. Students will observe skilled demonstrations and participate in hands-on practice. The major portions of the course will be devoted to lab sessions. Course content includes the following:

Instructors evaluate and provide feedback to each student following the completion of each orthosis and shoe modification. During critique each student will be asked questions relevant to fabrication and management of patients exhibiting foot disorders. The course concludes with student interaction in the form of case studies. Students are asked pertinent questions regarding patient management, fabrication, and evaluation of foot and ankle disorders.
Note: Each student is required to bring a pair of extra-depth shoes that fit and two pairs of old, worn oxford (not athletic) shoes.
